A Major Leap Forward

This new website will be a groundbreaking tool, helping not only those here in Alabama, but anyone throughout the world who lives with low vision.

Working for 22 years for the Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services, Jane Bush is a longtime supporter of Hadley. Jane has helped provide much-needed support to hundreds. She has a wealth of experience in educating people with low vision on how to tackle everyday activities like cooking, cleaning, shopping, and more.

“When I close a case, I always use Hadley as a resource,” she explains. “The iPhone instruction with Douglas Walker is especially great. As different workshops or new discussion groups come out, I make sure that everyone knows all that Hadley has to offer.”

“The fact that there’s no fee means that I can always refer someone to Hadley. It’s never a matter of worrying how much is this going to cost them,” Jane adds. “That’s a big deal, especially for retirees who live on a limited budget.”

Working primarily with individuals 55 years of age and older who acquire vision loss later in life (most through macular degeneration), Jane was quick to describe the new Hadley website as ‘groundbreaking’ after signing in and surfing around.

Jane was thrilled with the website’s ease of access, the variety of services and programs offered, and how it remembers exactly where you are when logging back on.

“I love it. It’s a major leap forward,” she says. “This new website will be a groundbreaking tool, helping not only those here in Alabama, but anyone throughout the world who lives with low vision.”
