Hello, my name is Douglas Walker. Today we will check out how to save a favorite website in Safari.
Now Safari is Apple's web browser and we just so happen to have Safari open and we have been placed right back in the last web page that we have opened. And it just happens to be the Apple website. I know, who would have thought it? But, anyway how about we go ahead and save this site? Yeah, when we want to save a web page, we will need to head to our share button. And our share button is right here in the bottom center of our screen. So we'll go ahead and just touch near the bottom center of our screen here.
VoiceOver: Share button.
Douglas: Great, and we got lucky here and here is our share button. So we will go ahead and just double tap and open up our share options here. So, we'll go ahead and double tap. Yeah, our share sheet has opened and when our share sheet opens, we typically find a list of all of the people that we've text or emailed. Now, for the sake of privacy, we've kind of hidden those today. But we would just right swipe through all of those until we find our add bookmark button. Yeah, saving a website is also known as setting bookmarks. And we've already swiped to our add bookmarks button. So we'll go ahead and just double tap and add our bookmark here.
VoiceOver: Text field is editing. Apple character mode, insertion point at end.
Douglas: All right, a whole new screen has opened and this is our add bookmarks screen. Now we've been placed in an edit field for actually naming our web page here. And Safari will attempt to automatically name our web page for us and ours has been named Apple. And this works for me. Now there are a couple of items here that we're gonna quickly check out. So we'll go ahead and just right swipe a couple of times here.
VoiceOver: Clear text button.
Douglas: Okay and here's our clear text button and we could double tap here if we want to quickly clear our previous edit field. However, we're happy with Apple here so we'll go ahead and just right swipe from here.
VoiceOver: HTTPS slash slash www.apple.com slash dimmed text field.
Douglas: Great and here is our website's address, or URL, and we don't want to really mess with this because this will insure that we are taken to our correct website. So we'll go ahead and just right swipe from here.
VoiceOver: Location heading.
Douglas: Here we have the heading for our location and our location is the folder where our website will be saved. So we will go ahead and just right swipe to see our folder's name here. And we'll just right swipe.
VoiceOver: Favorites.
Douglas: Great, and here we are on our favorites folder and this is actually a button and if we were to double tap, we would bring up a list of all of our folders. And we could just choose a different folder for saving our website if we like. But our favorites folder here will work just fine for us. So we'll just leave this as is. Okay, that pretty much covers our new add bookmarks screen. And we are ready to save our website. So we'll go ahead and just find our save button in the top right-hand corner of our screen. So we'll go ahead and just touch our save button here.
VoiceOver: Save button.
Douglas: And here it is so we'll go ahead and just double tap here.
VoiceOver: Apple heading level one.
Douglas: Great, our add new bookmarks screen has closed here and we have been placed right back on our Apple website. And it has, of course, been saved right in our favorites folder within our bookmarks. But, how about we go ahead and make sure it's there? So we will find all of our saved websites within our bookmarks and our bookmarks button is just to the right of our share button in the bottom of our screen here. So we'll go ahead and just touch our bookmarks button here.
VoiceOver: Show bookmarks button.
Douglas: Great, and here's our show bookmarks button. So we'll go ahead and just double tap here and we will open up all of our bookmarks here.
VoiceOver: Favorites back button.
Douglas: All right, our bookmarks screen has opened and we have been placed in our favorites folder. And, what do you know? Our new Apple bookmark is right here in our favorites folder. And we could simply just swipe to it and just double tap to open it right up. You know, it really is so fantastic that we have been given such a great way for organizing and saving all of our favorite websites. Again, my name is Douglas Walker. Take care and I'll see you next time.
