iPhone/iPad Low Vision: Adjusting the Text Size

Hello, my name is Douglas Walker. Today, we will take a look at how to change our text size. It really is super great that we've been given the ability to enlarge our text size across all of our Apple apps.

Now, we're using our iPad in today's workshop. However, all of this will work pretty much the same, whether we're using our iPad, our iPhone, and even our iPod Touch. So, let's jump right in and check out how to turn on our large text.

Now to turn on our large text, we will need to head to our settings app. And our settings app is right here on our home screen. So, we'll just touch our settings app.

Great, our settings have opened and we have been given two lists. Now, our large text setting is within our accessibility settings. So we'll look for accessibility here in our left list. And uh, there it is. So, we'll just tap it.

Yeah, our accessibility button is now highlighted and we notice that all of our accessibility settings have opened here in our right list. Now, we'll find our large text settings in our display and text size, and display and text size is the third item here in our right list. So, we'll just tap our display and text size.

Yeah, our display and text size settings have opened and large text is the second item in our list here. So, we'll just tap large text. Great, our large text settings are open and we will need to turn on our large text on/off switch here to the right. We'll simply just touch it to turn it on.

Yeah, now that our large text is turned on, we'll use our adjustable bar here to change our text size. So, let's go ahead and see how this works. Yeah, we have a little round bead here on our adjustable bar and if we just touch our bead and begin dragging it to the right, we notice that our text begins to enlarge or get bigger. Yeah, and as we drag our finger back to our left, all of our text will get smaller again. And when we get things right where we like it, we simply just lift our finger.

Yeah, and there you go. I'll tell you, we can already see what a big difference this makes right here in our settings. All right, that pretty much covers how to turn on our large text.

You know, it's pretty easy to see that having the ability to adjust the text size across all of our Apple apps is a huge game-changer and can really help to reduce our eye strain throughout the course of our day. Again, my name is Douglas Walker. Take care, and I'll see you next time.
