You can apply makeup with confidence no matter your vision. But you may need some tips and tricks to make it easier for you to do. So … let’s get going.

Here are a few tips that are pretty simple but can make a big difference: First, keep liquid foundation in the refrigerator to make it easier to feel on your face.

Next, use a headband to keep your hair away from your face while you’re putting on your makeup.

And, if you’ve got low vision, use a lighted magnifying mirror.

For liquid foundation, first choose how you want to apply it. Use whichever is more comfortable, your fingers, a brush, or a cosmetic sponge.

Now, place the foundation on your finger, brush, or sponge. Dab a small amount on your nose, chin, forehead, and both cheeks.

Using circular strokes, start from your chin and move the foundation out toward the edges of your face—gradually moving up until you reach your hairline.

Now, put a few dabs on your neck and use upward strokes toward your chin and jawline. Using these steps will help you get a smooth, even coverage on your face.

Now, if powder is your foundation of choice, apply using a brush or cosmetic sponge. As you dip the brush or sponge into the powder, count the number of applications you’re doing. That way you can do an equal number on each side of your face. This will help you avoid any uneven build up of makeup.

Now, starting from your chin, use small circles and gradually move up your face until you reach your hairline. Once again, these steps will help you get smooth, even coverage on your face.

Of course, after repeated use, the middle of the compact is usually first to go. So just use your finger to feel where and what’s left in the container.

Now, let’s work on applying blush. For starters, cake powder blush makes it easier to apply the same amount to both cheeks.

Now, place the middle and index fingers of your right hand on your left cheek. Then, feel your cheekbone to determine the area you want to be covered with the blush.

Next, spread your fingers apart to create a “V” by pointing your index finger up and the middle finger toward your ear.

With your other hand, sweep the brush back and forth in the cake powder. Then tap the brush against the side of the container to remove any excess powder.

Be sure to count the number of strokes you use to make sure you’re covering each cheek equally. Now, start between your fingers at the center of your cheekbones and work your way to the hairline and ear. Repeat these same steps for the other cheek. And here are a few other things to keep in mind:
When applying blush, keep your strokes above your nostrils.

And blot your cheeks lightly with a cotton ball or tissue to remove any excess.
