By following these simple steps, you can apply lip stick with confidence, no matter your level of vision.

Let’s start with lip liner. Keep the tip sharpened and hold the liner tube close to the tip as you apply.

Place the index finger of your other hand in the middle of your upper lip, right where you feel the dip. This is where you’ll begin to apply your liner, just below your finger.

With your lips parted slightly, lightly trace the lip liner along the edge of your upper lip. Use small strokes as you go and press lighter as you reach the corner.

Move back to the center of your upper lip and repeat these steps on the other side.

If you need help keeping your hand steady, try holding your elbow close to your body. You could also try resting your elbow on a flat surface.

Now, gently rub your finger along the edge of your upper lip to remove any stray lines.

Repeat these same steps for the bottom lip, going from the center to the corner on each side. But this time, place your index finger just BELOW the middle of your lower lip and place your lip liner tip just ABOVE that finger.

And here’s a pro tip: Apply a thin coat of clear lip balm first to help the liner glide easier along the edge of your lips.

Now let’s talk lipstick. Check how far you’ve rolled out the lipstick by lightly touching the tip. Then roll it out until the tip is just slightly above the tube.

Part your lips a bit. Place the index finger of your free hand in the middle of your upper lip, right where you feel the dip. You’ll begin putting on your lipstick right below this finger. Start in the center for the upper lip and slide the lipstick out to the right corner. Press lighter as you go until you reach the corner. Go back to the center of the top lip and repeat the steps to the left corner, then the bottom lip.

Once again, if you need help keeping your hand steady, try holding your elbow close to your body. You could also try resting your elbow on a flat surface.

When they’re completely covered, press your lips together and run the tip of your pinky finger across them to spread the color evenly.

Now press your lips into a napkin or tissue to blot away any extra color. Give a quick wipe of your front teeth, and you’re good to go.

Another pro tip: If you spread a small amount of foundation on your lips first, your lipstick lasts longer.
