You've been shaving since you were 15 years old, so don't think you have to put down your razor just because you've experienced changes in your vision.
Let's just take all those years of experience, add a few new tweaks and you'll be shaving with confidence for years to come. And sideburns seem like a good place to start.
Grab the shaving cream or gel if that's your preference. Use your fingers to find the proper position of the nozzle. Once you've applied the cream to your face, hold your head straight.
Now, use your fingers or comb to act as a guide straight edge. You'll place that guide along the bottom edge of your sideburn. Pull the skin taught, then shave downward. Then using your fingers, find any stray hairs or remaining shaving cream that alerts you to areas you may have missed. Now, do the same thing on the other side.
Moving onto the rest, the upper lip, chin, and neck area. Place the blade close to your nose and shave down towards your top lip. Once you finish that area, move just below your lip and continue shaving downward.
Always check shaved areas with your fingers to feel for any whiskers you might have missed. Of course, shaving cream left on your face is a telltale sign of spots you missed. Finish off with the neck area. Lifting your chin will tighten the skin. And when you reach the Adam's apple area, use your free hand to pull the skin to the side to make it easier to avoid nicks.
If you're going for a close shave, shave against the grain of your whiskers. Shave with the grain in areas that are more sensitive and cover sensitive areas like moles with your finger to shave around them.
Adding a few tools can help you get good results. One is a magnifying mirror. Some of those even come with lights. There's also a video magnifier that has a flexible camera you can point at your face.
Ask your trusted family and friends for feedback on how well you're doing and contact your Hadley learning expert to learn more about any of the tools mentioned here or if you have your own tips to share. Of course, as with anything new, give yourself time, patience, and practice and you'll get there.
Magnified cosmetic mirrors come with and without lights.
