Donna Brooker's career in the visual impairment field started after she married her husband, Jim, in 2017.

She describes her Hadley learning as a "life changing" experience. With proper keyboarding skills she can now efficiently execute her work, such as managing marketing and promotions, to keep her business running.

"About 30 years ago someone I worked with who was visually impaired mentioned that they were taking courses from Hadley. I didn't know what it was and he explained it to me and for a long time I thought it was just courses for people who are visually impaired. It was later on that he explained to me that professionals could take courses also."

Darrel was awarded $30,000 as the winner of Hadley's 'New Venture Competition' for a business plan he developed for a multidisciplinary behavioral healthcare practice he started.

"The Lifelong Learning Award means a great deal to me because I have always loved learning. And I still continue to learn and use it."
