Hi, my name is Ricky Enger, and today we're gonna get started with the Talkback screen reader just by learning a couple of the gestures that we're gonna be using pretty much all the time to do things on our phone. In the first workshop in this series, we learned about turning Talkback on and off. So go ahead and check out that workshop if you're wondering how to do that. We're using a Google Pixel phone for our workshop here, but what we're learning should be pretty much the same on other Android phones as well. If things don't work the way you expect, or if you get stuck and just need to talk things through, Hadley's here to do that with you. So if you scroll down the workshop page, you'll find some cool resources, plus there's info on how to contact us if you need to.
All right, so we've got Talkback on now. What do we do next? There's this smooth piece of glass that we need to explore somehow. Well, let's start just by touching the phone with one finger.
Ed: Now that you've had a chance to learn a bit with us, we'd like to learn more about you, your name, email address, how you heard about Hadley, and your relationship to vision loss. Learning more will give us a better understanding of how to personalize Hadley just for you. And don't worry. Everything you share with us online will be kept safe and secure. Of course, if you'd prefer to talk through these questions, we're just a phone call away at 800-323-4238.
Taking these few steps saves your preferences so you can continue right where you left off and track your progress every time you log on. Plus, it connects you to the Hadley community and helps sustain our funding to keep Hadley free of charge. And last but not least, it gives you direct access to experts like me. Now, where were we?
