iPhone/iPad VoiceOver: Phone Calls

Hello, my name is Douglas Walker. Today, we are going to check out, how to place and receive a phone call. If we're new to our iPhone, phone calls can be a bit tricky at first. However, with a couple of simple tips and tricks, placing and receiving phone calls can be so much easier.

All right, so how about we go ahead and place a phone call? Yeah, our phone app is already open and we just so happen to be placed in our keypad tab. Okay, how about we go ahead and call my Hadley office number. Yeah, I will be calling myself. Anyway, we'll go ahead and just type in our office number here, and we'll go ahead and type it in.

VoiceOver: Eight eight four four seven seven seven seven eight eight four four two two eight eight eight eight three three.

Douglas: Great now, before we place our call, we can check to make sure that we have actually entered the right number by touching in our phone number at the very top of our screen here. And that's set of course just above our number keypad. And so we'll go ahead and just touch there.

VoiceOver: Phone number, eight four seven, seven eight four, two eight eight three, text field.

Douglas: Yeah, our phone number is correct. However, if we made a mistake when entering our phone number we have a delete button just beneath the pound button in our key pad here. All right, so how about we go ahead and place our call?

And to do this, we will first need to touch our call button. And our call button is just below our zero here in our keypad. So, we'll go ahead and just touch our call button.

VoiceOver: Call button.

Douglas: And we will simply double tap to place our call. Now I have my office number set to roll to my voicemail, so we'll go ahead and just double tap here.

Voicemail: Please leave a message at the tone.

Douglas: Yeah, we have placed our call and I'm leaving my cell phone voicemail. Now, our call button has turned into an end button. So if we wanted to end our call, we could just touch our end button and then just double tap. However, the easiest way to end a call is to simply use our two finger double tap.

The great thing about using our two finger double tap gesture is that we don't have to go searching for our end button. We can just two finger double tap anywhere on our screen. And of course, our phone call would be ended. And I tell you that is pretty great. So let's go ahead and give it a try. We will just two finger double tap here. And there you go. Our phone call has ended and we have been placed right back in our keypad tab. All right. So now that we have placed a call.

How about we check out how to answer an incoming call? And this is really great, because when our phone starts ringing, all we need to do is once again use our two fingered double tap to answer it. So let's go ahead and give it a try. Yeah, I'll go ahead and call myself from my office number, so I'll go ahead and just dial.

Douglas: Yeah, there's our call-- and we will two finger double tap here just two finger double tap. Again we just performed our two finger double tap to answer our call and it's as easy as that.

Now, to hang up our call you guessed it we will just use our two finger double tap again so let's go ahead and do it. We will just two finger double tap. Great and our phone call has ended and we are once again placed right back in our keypad tab. And that's all there is to it. All right?

Like we said, if we're new to our iPhone placing and receiving a phone call it can be a bit tricky at first. But our two finger double tap gesture helps to make placing and receiving phone calls so much easier. Again, my name is Douglas Walker. Take care and I'll see you next time.
