Hi, my name is Ricky Enger. And today we're gonna check out the notification shade with TalkBack. We're using a Google Pixel phone for our workshop here but what we're learning should be pretty much the same for a lot of other Android phones as well. For some phones though, our two-finger gesture to open notifications isn't gonna work because the phone is set up to use gestures with just one finger to do things. We have some really great resources covering that one-finger angle gesture for opening notifications. Go ahead and scroll down the workshop page and check out the resources area to find that, plus there's info on how to contact us if you need to.
You know, as much as the phone is a huge part of our daily lives, there are times when we're just not gonna be near it for whatever reason, so there might be missed calls or texts, emails, things like that, and that's where our notification shade comes in.
Ed: Now that you've had a chance to learn a bit with us, we'd like to learn more about you, your name, email address, how you heard about Hadley, and your relationship to vision loss. Learning more will give us a better understanding of how to personalize Hadley just for you. And don't worry. Everything you share with us online will be kept safe and secure. Of course, if you'd prefer to talk through these questions, we're just a phone call away at 800-323-4238.
Taking these few steps saves your preferences so you can continue right where you left off and track your progress every time you log on. Plus, it connects you to the Hadley community and helps sustain our funding to keep Hadley free of charge. And last but not least, it gives you direct access to experts like me. Now, where were we?
