Braille Special Symbols Writing 6 - Capital Passage

If you don't already know how to read the capital passage symbols, we recommend first doing Hadley's reading workshop, Braille Special Symbols, Workshop 6: Capital Passage.

Let's jump in and read these symbols. Turn to page 17 in the workbook. At the top of the page, read the capital passage indicator and the capitals terminator. Now let's practice writing these symbols in sentences.

We're going to try something different yet again. These sentences will not be read aloud. Instead, the sentences are written in the workbook starting on page 18 without any indicators. You can also use these sentences to check punctuation and spelling.

First to go to the workbook to read the sentence, then select or press play to hear what to capitalize in the sentence. Finally, braille the sentence using the correct indicators.

To begin, start on a new line and write 1. Be sure to indent each runover line two spaces. As always, use capitalization and punctuation as you would in print, and do not divide words between lines.

1. The words MILITARY WORKING DOGS are fully capitalized. The word FOREVER is also fully capitalized.
2. The words ONE FISH, TWO FISH, RED FISH, BLUE FISH are fully capitalized.
3. The words BE YOURSELF; EVERYONE ELSE IS ALREADY TAKEN are all fully capitalized.
4. The words J. ANA THOMPSON are fully capitalized. The words JADE A. THOMPSON are also fully capitalized.
5. The words ABOVE THE TREELINE—BENEATH THE SKY are all fully capitalized.
6. The word EH is fully capitalized. The words WHAT'S UP DOC are also fully capitalized.
7. The words XAVIER BRASS QUINTET are fully capitalized. The words A. C. MILLER are fully capitalized, and the words DANA R. STANDISH are also fully capitalized.
8. The words OH, MY WORD are fully capitalized. The word SWEET is fully capitalized, and the word DELICIOUS is also fully capitalized.
9. The words ZELDA B. DANCE are fully capitalized.
10. The words TITANIC SINKS 4 HOURS AFTER HITTING ICEBERG are fully capitalized.
11. The words I'M SO TIRED OF MEATLOAF are fully capitalized.
12. The words LOSE 10 POUNDS IN 2 WEEKS are fully capitalized.
13. The words NO DIGGING: UNDERGROUND GAS LINE are fully capitalized.
14. The words LOVE/HATE RELATIONSHIP are fully capitalized.
15. The words THE NEW YORK TIMES are fully capitalized.
16. The words SATURDAY IS MY BIRTHDAY are fully capitalized. And the words I CAN'T WAIT are also fully capitalized.
17. The words BUY 1 GET 1 50% OFF are fully capitalized.
18. All words in the sentence are fully capitalized.
19. The words GARDEN2TABLE PROGRAM are fully capitalized, and the words COOKING 4 ONE are fully capitalized.
20. The words RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL are fully capitalized.
